Sierra Maestra

The Sierra Maestra Mountain Range extends approximately 38 000 hectares throughout the eastern provinces of Santiago de Cuba, Granma and Guantánamo. It also covers the Sierra Maestra National Park, ideal for mountain climbing since the highest elevations in the country, the Pico Turquino (1 974 m.), Pico Caracas (1 000 m.) and Pico Magdalena (500 m.) are also part of the range. The Saltón-Cedrón is especially recommended for ecoturism and health tourism.
